About US

We’re Sam and Luke, two people from Wales who are lucky enough to work hard some of the year (a little over half the year) and spend the rest travelling during quiet periods. Sam works as an academic proofreading consultant, while Luke works as a writer, translator, editor and proofreader, with our base back home in Wales.

In early 2018, we made the decision to leave our apartment in the beautiful Welsh capital of Cardiff, where we’d worked and studied for years, to split our time between living with relatives and travelling around the world, renting a place in the cities we took a fancy to.

​

Since then, we've travelled all across Europe and Japan and have met amazing people and learnt more about this amazing world we share.

​

Our mission has been to explore the world with our pet dragon Dewi – a symbol of Welsh culture – always by our side as we travel and save up to buy a house. We return home to Wales every couple of months for our busy working periods but also (mainly) because we miss our family's cats. This is our travel log.

We write about food, drink, travel, the arts and culture, trying to find the best tasting and most enjoyable things on Earth.
